Vin Diesel Teases New Groot Movie — Then Quietly Deletes It

Vin Diesel might’ve let something slip. The actor behind Marvel’s Groot posted an update on Instagram that sounded like a big reveal, a new Groot movie, but then quickly edited it to remove all mentions of the project.

In his original caption, Diesel wrote, “So much to be excited about… Finally finished the Groot sequel for our friends at Disney… The Arbor King.” That was enough to send fans into full speculation mode. He even added, “You all know the other films in process or upcoming, but something about the continuation of that beloved floral colossus just feels different.”

But not long after posting, Diesel quietly edited the caption and took out the part about Groot, making fans wonder if he spoke too soon, or maybe wasn’t supposed to say anything yet. Marvel hasn’t commented on the situation.

This isn’t the first time Diesel has teased a solo project for Groot. Earlier this year, he mentioned a film idea called Planet X, which would show Groot returning to his home planet. That project hasn’t been confirmed either, but it added to the buzz.

Diesel has been the voice of Groot since the first Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. Since then, he’s appeared as the lovable tree in several Marvel films, including Infinity War, Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and all three Guardians movies.

He also voices Baby Groot in the animated Disney+ series I Am Groot, which has already released two seasons. Plus, he was featured in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Even though Diesel keeps hinting at Groot’s future, Marvel hasn’t officially said anything about new solo Groot content. Not even for Avengers: Doomsday, the next big team-up movie in the MCU.

Whether The Arbor King is real or just an idea that Diesel got excited about, the post—and its sudden deletion, definitely got fans talking. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if Marvel confirms anything. Until then, it’s just one more mystery in the Marvel universe.
