‘Call of Duty’ Season 5 Trailer Promises Big Action for ‘Warzone’ and ‘Black Ops 6’
The new trailer for Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 5 is here, and it’s all about going big. The trailer, officially released by Activision, gives fans a fast look at what’s coming when the new season launches on August 7, 2025. Right from the start, it sets the tone with the line: “Strap in. Lock ‘n load. It’s showtime.”
This season is shaping up to be packed. A new battle pass is coming, filled with fresh cosmetic items and likely a bunch of crossover content too.
You’re getting four new multiplayer maps. While the exact locations haven’t been revealed yet, each new season usually includes a mix of close-range and medium-range layouts, so you can expect a good variety for both fast-paced and tactical gameplay. These maps will likely arrive in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, adding more variety to standard modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination.
The Zombies storyline is wrapping up with a final map called Reckoning. This is where the current Zombies crew, along with Edward Richtofen, will face S.A.M. It’s taking place in or around Janus Towers, in Liberty Falls. If you’ve followed the story from earlier seasons, this will be the big showdown that ends the arc that started with Season 3’s Shattered Veil.
Over in Warzone, Verdansk Stadium is opening up even more. You’ll now be able to breach the rooftop and explore the interior. Leaks suggest there will be new rooms like a boardroom and computer room inside, and possibly a “lockdown” feature — maybe tied to a new event or Easter egg.
Season 5 is also bringing four new weapons and two new attachments. While they haven’t been officially revealed by Activision, data miners found clues pointing to weapons like the MP-40 submachine gun and the M60 LMG. There’s also talk about melee gear like brass knuckles and a chainsaw, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation on what’s actually included on day one.
Finally, the season will feature new game modes and live events, which usually means limited-time modes, in-match challenges, or surprise crossovers. The Fisherman operator from I Know What You Did Last Summer has already been teased, so we could see more horror or movie-themed content during the season.
In short, you’re getting more maps, more guns, the final Zombies chapter, a big Warzone map update, and more chaos through limited-time events. Season 5 launches on August 7, 2025 , and it looks like it’s going to be one of the biggest updates yet.
