Trailer Released for Netflix’s Thriller ‘Wayward’ Starring Mae Martin and Toni Collette
The trailer for Wayward, the new Netflix thriller miniseries, is here, and fans are already buzzing. The show stars Mae Martin and Toni Collette and is set to premiere on Netflix on September 25, 2025.
Wayward takes place in a seemingly charming town with a darker side. The series dives into the hidden dangers of the troubled teen industry, mixing suspense and drama in a way that promises to keep viewers hooked.
Mae Martin plays Alex Dempsey, while Toni Collette takes on the role of Evelyn Wade. The cast also includes Sarah Gadon, Sydney Topliffe, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and several others.
Mae Martin isn’t just starring in the show; they also serve as the showrunner and executive producer, working alongside Ryan Scott.
The series was commissioned by Netflix in April 2023 and is produced by Objective Fiction, based in London and Los Angeles, and Sphere Media from Canada. Ryan Scott, Ben Farrell, Hannah Mackay, Jennifer Kawaja, and Bruno Dubé are all involved as executive producers as well.
Martin moved to Los Angeles to work on Wayward, which was originally called Tall Pines. About the project, Martin shared that it’s a story they have “been dying to tell for years.” Production began in Ontario, Canada, during the summer of 2024.
The cast grew throughout 2024 with actors like Brandon Jay McLaren joining in May, followed by Sarah Gadon, Toni Collette, Patrick J. Adams, and others in June.
Fans eager to get a first look won’t be disappointed, as the official trailer for Wayward has already been released, giving a glimpse into the eerie and mysterious world of Tall Pines.
