John Krasinski Back for ‘A Quiet Place Part III’ — Release Date Announced
John Krasinski is heading back into the terrifying, quiet world he helped create. Paramount Pictures has confirmed that A Quiet Place Part III will be hitting theaters on July 9, 2027, with Krasinski set to write, direct, and produce the film.
The announcement came directly from Krasinski himself on social media, exciting fans of the suspenseful horror franchise.
The plot for the third film is being kept under wraps for now, and no cast members have been confirmed. However, Krasinski’s return to lead the creative side suggests the movie will stay true to the tense and emotional style that made the series a hit.
The first two films, both directed by Krasinski, combined heart-pounding scares with an intimate family story, which struck a chord with audiences worldwide.
The A Quiet Place franchise began in 2018 with the first film introducing a chilling premise: a world overrun by deadly alien creatures who are blind but have an extremely sensitive sense of hearing. Survivors must live in complete silence to stay alive.
The first film was praised for its originality and minimal dialogue, earning strong box office numbers and critical acclaim. Krasinski returned in 2020 with A Quiet Place Part II, which continued the story of the Abbott family as they faced the ongoing threat.
In 2024, the series expanded with A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel directed by Michael Sarnoski. That film explored the early days of the alien invasion, showing the chaos and terror as humanity first encountered the creatures.
While Sarnoski took the director’s chair for the prequel, Krasinski has remained the main creative force behind the core storyline.
Over the years, the films have brought in more than $900 million worldwide, making A Quiet Place one of Paramount’s most successful modern franchises. The universe has even expanded beyond film, with a video game, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, released in October 2024 by Stormind Games and Saber Interactive.
Emily Blunt, who starred in the first two films and is married to Krasinski in real life, has previously spoken about the possibility of a trilogy.
She revealed back in 2021 that Krasinski had plans for a third and final film, saying, “He wanted to see how the second one was received before moving forward.” Fans have been waiting ever since for official word, and now it’s finally here.
For now, details remain a mystery, but given the success of the first two movies and Krasinski’s hands-on return, audiences can expect another nerve-shredding trip into a world where silence is the only way to survive. July 2027 can’t come soon enough.
