Exciting news for Spider-Man fans! New set photos from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film set to release on July 31, 2026, might have spilled the beans on Peter Parker’s next big villain.

According to posts on X, production is underway in Glasgow, and the images show military tanks with a red devil logo.

This logo screams Inner Demons, the criminal gang led by the villain Mister Negative in the comics, hinting he could be the main bad guy in this Phase 6 movie.

Tom Holland is back as Spider-Man after his last appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021. That film ended with Doctor Strange casting a spell that made everyone forget Peter Parker’s identity, leaving him to face the world alone. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently said this movie will keep things grounded, focusing on street-level crime rather than world-ending threats. “I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man.”

Feige said, adding that the Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, fits perfectly into this vibe. Mister Negative, a fan-favorite from the comics and Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #546 in 2008. His real name is Martin Li, a philanthropist who runs a homeless shelter in New York City through his F.E.A.S.T. foundation.

But there’s a dark side: a failed drug experiment gave him a split personality, turning him into Mister Negative, a crime lord who controls the Inner Demons gang. He wields Darkforce and Lightforce energies, which let him heal, control minds through “corruption,” and power up weapons.

His Inner Demons can even regenerate, making them tough opponents for Spider-Man. While no actor has been confirmed for the role reports suggest Steven Yeun was considered, and Stephen Oyoung, the game’s voice actor, wants to play him in live-action.

The Hollywood Reporter also dropped some juicy details, saying Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Michael Mando’s Scorpion, last seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, are joining the cast. Apparently, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Punisher will start off fighting each other before teaming up against the real villains. This could tie into the tank photos, with insiders claiming Punisher will drive one in a big action scene involving a Department of Damage Control convoy.

With filming happening in Glasgow and at Pinewood Studios in England, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be a wild ride. Alongside Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon return as MJ and Ned, with newcomers like Sadie Sink joining the mix. Fans are buzzing to see how Peter Parker tackles Mister Negative and his crew in this street-level adventure.
