Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has finally started, and fans are already getting a lot to be excited about. Shooting began on August 1, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, and within just a day, new photos and videos from the set have started to appear online.

These early glimpses have revealed two full looks at Tom Holland’s brand-new Spider-Man suit and, possibly, a big hint about the villains Peter Parker will face next.

According to videos shared by Cosmic Media on X, the suit is shown in action during filming on Glasgow’s streets. Fans have been quick to analyze every detail of the new design. But the suit isn’t the only thing turning heads.

Some set photos show armored vehicles covered with a red demon logo. Reports pointed out that this symbol is very similar to the one used by the Inner Demons gang in Marvel Comics. That group is led by the villain Mister Negative, and Russell suggested that this could mean Mister Negative will be making his MCU debut in the film.

Filming in Glasgow will last for around two weeks and cover several parts of the city center, including Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate. These streets have been transformed into New York City for the movie. One of the film’s major action scenes will also be shot here.

Tom Holland has said he’s happy to be starting this Spider-Man movie with real location shoots, saying it brought back memories of Spider-Man: Homecoming. He explained that No Way Home was mostly shot on soundstages because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so being back in real city environments feels like a return to form.

After the location filming is done, production will move to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, for more work on soundstages. Cinematographer Brett Pawlak, who has worked with director Destin Daniel Cretton on many of his past projects, is back behind the camera for this one as well.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth solo Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the 38th MCU movie overall. It follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange’s spell erased Peter Parker’s identity from everyone’s memory. Now Peter is living under the radar and protecting New York while trying to find his place in the world again.

The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who also wrote the last two Holland-led Spider-Man films. The cast features Holland alongside Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, and Michael Mando. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has teased that Bernthal’s version of The Punisher will be “different” from previous portrayals.

Producer Amy Pascal has said this film is the start of a brand-new trilogy for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Filming will continue through the rest of the year, and the movie is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Marvel’s Phase Six.
