Two Actors Broke a Unique MCU Record — They Have Appeared in Every Single Phase of the MCU

The MCU has officially started Phase 6 with the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This phase includes several big projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026, Avengers: Doomsday in 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.

There are also TV shows like Eyes of Wakanda released recently, Marvel Zombies, Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Vision Quest, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, which includes an untitled Punisher TV special. Phase 6 will wrap up with Secret Wars, with Doomsday acting as the lead-in next year.

One exciting fact about Avengers: Doomsday is that two actors in the cast have set a unique MCU record. Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes, and Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, have both appeared in every phase of the MCU so far. This is a rare achievement because most actors don’t stay involved for so long.

Sebastian Stan made his MCU debut back in Phase 1 with Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011. He continued playing Bucky Barnes through the years in movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier (phase 2), Captain America: Civil War (Phase 3), Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (phase 4). He has also appeared in recent projects like Captain America: Brave New World (phase 5) and Thunderbolts*, and is confirmed to return for Avengers: Doomsday (phase 6) in 2026.

Tom Hiddleston, playing Loki, also started in Phase 1 with Thor and appeared in The Avengers. He continued through Phase 2 with Thor: The Dark World and Phase 3 with Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Hiddleston also stars in the Loki series, with seasons released in 2021 (phase 4) and 2023 (phase 5). Like Stan, he is confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday (phase 6).

These two characters have been with the MCU from the very start and are set to stay at least until Phase 6. But fans notice that Marvel has treated them differently. Bucky Barnes is expected to lead the Thunderbolts* (also called New Avengers), a fact confirmed by Marvel boss Kevin Feige and actor Anthony Mackie. However, it’s unclear if Bucky’s character will survive the MCU reboot that’s expected to happen soon.

Loki’s role is different. As the “God of Stories,” Loki isn’t as tied down by the usual MCU rules. He plays a huge part in the multiverse and is likely to be very important in the final moments of the current Multiverse Saga. Still, like Bucky, no one knows if Loki will make it through the reboot.

Both actors have made an incredible mark by staying through every MCU phase. Sebastian Stan and Tom Hiddleston are part of something special, appearing in all six phases so far. Fans are watching closely to see what happens to these beloved characters in the coming years.
