The first trailer for Cold Storage is here, giving a tense look at the upcoming American thriller based on David Koepp’s 2019 novel. The movie is directed by Jonny Campbell and written by Koepp himself.

The film follows a dangerous outbreak after a mutating, fast-spreading fungus escapes a sealed lab. Two young employees, played by Joe Keery and Georgina Campbell, team up with a hardened bioterror expert, played by Liam Neeson, to survive a terrifying night and stop the infection before it wipes out humanity.

The cast also features Sosie Bacon as Dr. Hero Martins, Lesley Manville, Vanessa Redgrave as Ma Rooney, Darrell D’Silva as The Rev, Daniel Rigby as Anthony, Rob Collins as Enos Minjarra, Ellora Torchia as Abigail, Aaron Heffernan, and Andrew Brooke as Greg.

Production on Cold Storage began in 2023, with filming taking place in Italy and Morocco. The project was first announced in May 2022, with Liam Neeson and Joe Keery leading the cast and StudioCanal fully financing the movie.

Georgina Campbell joined the cast in October 2022, followed by Sosie Bacon in March 2023. In April 2025, Samuel Goldwyn Films picked up the U.S. distribution rights.

Koepp’s story mixes suspense, science, and survival horror, and the trailer promises plenty of high-stakes action. It shows tense moments inside the infected facility, desperate escapes, and the team racing against time.

The movie is set for release in the United States in 2026. Fans of thrillers and disaster stories won’t have to wait long to see Liam Neeson face off against one of his most dangerous enemies yet, a killer fungus.
