‘Hazbin Hotel’ Creators Reveal New Animated Adaptation of ‘Homestuck’
The world of animation has some exciting news for fans of both the Hellaverse and the iconic internet story Homestuck. Vivienne Medrano, the creator behind popular shows like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, surprised fans at this year’s Animate Orlando by announcing that her team, SpindleHorse, is working on an animated pilot for Homestuck.
Homestuck originally started as a webcomic in 2009 and quickly became a massive hit. It tells a wild story about a group of teenagers facing the end of the world. The webcomic ended in 2016, and many believed the story had run its course.
However, Medrano and her crew have decided to bring it back to life in a new form. While the Hellaverse is busy with upcoming seasons of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, this new project shows they have more plans in store.

The team working on this pilot includes some familiar names. Richard Horvitz, a veteran voice actor, will serve as the voice director. Medrano herself is the executive producer, while Skye Henwood takes on the roles of director and writer. Other key roles include Mel Shin as Storyboard Director, Ben Jones as Animation Director, and Hone as Art Director. This talented crew promises a fresh take on the beloved story.
The voice cast is also impressive. Toby “Radiation” Fox will voice John Egbert, Cherami Leigh will play Rose Lalonde, Colleen O’Shaughnessey will be Jade Harley, Adam McArthur will voice Dave Strider, and Brandon Winckler will take on Karkat Vantas. These casting choices have many fans eager to see how the characters will come to life.
There is still no word on whether this pilot will lead to a full series or if it will eventually be available on platforms like Amazon Prime Video. But given the success and popularity of Medrano’s past work, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Homestuck join the streaming world soon.
For now, fans can look forward to the pilot episode this fall, which promises to bring the classic story back in a new and exciting way.
With the combined creativity of the team, the animated Homestuck show is shaping up to be a unique and thrilling experience.
