New Teaser for ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Delivers Chills Ahead of September 5 Release
A brand-new teaser for The Conjuring: Last Rites has just dropped, and it’s as creepy as fans would hope. The movie will arrive in theaters on September 5, 2025, and according to New Line Cinema, it’s set to be the fourth and possibly last main entry in the Conjuring series.
The story takes place in 1986 and brings back Lorraine and Ed Warren, played once again by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. Directed by Michael Chaves, who also made The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, the film follows the couple as they face a terrifying evil linked to an old case from their early days.

The Conjuring series began in 2013 and has since grown into a whole horror universe, with spin-offs like Annabelle and The Nun. Even The Curse of La Llorona is connected in spirit to the same dark world.
The script for Last Rites was written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, based on the real-life work of the Warrens. James Wan, who co-wrote the original story, is producing alongside Peter Safran.
Farmiga and Wilson are joined by Mia Tomlinson as the Warrens’ daughter Judy, and Ben Hardy as Judy’s boyfriend, Tony Spera. Filming took place in London from September to November 2024, and the score will be handled by Benjamin Wallfisch, who previously worked on Annabelle: Creation.
Director Michael Chaves told Empire before the last film came out, “What [The Devil Made Me Do It] hopefully does is open up this new chapter for the Warrens. This has a very unique ending to The Conjuring films. I would be excited to see where it could go from here.” Vera Farmiga also said, “Oh my God, I’d love to [continue]. It’s interesting, we have to up the fear in each one. Demonology is already so high-pitched and operatic.”
With its mix of classic scares and a story that could close the Warrens’ main saga, The Conjuring: Last Rites looks ready to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The new teaser makes it clear, this one’s going to be terrifying.
