Reports Claim Fans will See 6 Epic Teams Clash in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the biggest moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will bring together the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Wakanda’s heroes for an epic battle against Doctor Doom. With the Russo brothers returning to direct and a star-studded cast, fans are in for a superhero spectacle like no other, set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
With so many heroes confirmed to appear, it’s clear multiple teams will form in the movie. Some of these teams have already been hinted at on screen, while others remain just rumors, but all of them have fans excited. Let’s take a closer look at what we might see.
1. Sam Wilson’s Avengers

Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature not just one, but two Avengers teams, with one rumored to be led by the current Captain America, Sam Wilson. Sources suggest that this team will come together off-screen, a choice that has left some fans a bit disappointed. While the full lineup hasn’t been officially confirmed, based on the cast and returning heroes, it’s likely that Ant-Man and Thor will join Sam, along with Shuri and Shang-Chi.
2. The New Avengers / Thunderbolts

We saw the New Avengers come together in this year’s Thunderbolts*, and it seems this team is here to stay. From how the movie wrapped up, the lineup is expected to feature Red Guardian, Ava Starr, Yelena Belova, Sentry, Sam Walker, and Bucky. Rumors indicate that Sam Wilson might not be completely happy with this arrangement, particularly with Bucky leading the group.
3. The Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four were confirmed to join Avengers: Doomsday even before their solo MCU movie premiered. The post-credit scene hinted at their connection to Doctor Doom, and their film also shows that they’re aware of multiple realities. The team includes Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, and The Thing.
4. Team Loki / Exiles

Keep in mind, this team is still just a rumor and hasn’t been confirmed by any official sources. It’s said that Loki will have his own representatives, called “Exiles”
The rumored lineup includes Deadpool and Wolverine, Sylvie, Gambit, Hunter B-15, Captain Carter, and a Nomad version of Captain America. This lineup actually makes sense, since almost all of these characters in the MCU have been displaced, lost, or tampered with their timelines in some way, except for Nomad, who hasn’t appeared yet but is widely rumored to be played by Chris Evans.
5. The X-Men

This one is pretty simple. The MCU’s reality is set to collide with the Fox universe, bringing the original X-Men into the mix. So far, the confirmed members are Professor X, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Mystique, and Cyclops. Keep in mind, these are just the announced names, there could be more surprises.
6. Doom’s Team

It makes sense that Doctor Doom would put together his own “champions” to help execute his plan—after all, even Thanos had his own team of loyal followers and double agents. While nothing has been officially confirmed, rumors and fan theories suggest that Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange could be part of this group.
It’s unclear how Scarlet Witch would fit into Doom’s scheme, but in the Secret Wars comics, Doctor Strange did work for Doom before eventually turning against him.
These rumors were reported by Cosmic Circus and Austin Medeiros.
