James Gunn’s Superman movie is getting ready for its home release, and fans just got an extra treat before it arrives. DC Studios has posted Superman’s full speech from one of the most emotional moments in the film, and people are already calling it one of the best in superhero history.

The 2025 movie stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, better known as Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor, the billionaire genius who becomes Superman’s greatest enemy.

The cast also includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. Gunn wrote and directed the movie, which kicks off the new DC Universe and serves as a complete reboot of the Superman film series.

In the story, Superman steps into the middle of an international crisis, thinking he’s doing the right thing. But the situation is secretly set up by Lex Luthor, and the fallout turns the public against Superman. While trying to restore people’s trust, Superman also has to face Lex head-on.

The heart of their conflict runs deeper than just a power struggle. For Lex, Superman’s greatest crime is that he isn’t human. No matter how much good he does, Lex believes an alien can never truly understand humanity. In Lex’s eyes, Superman’s strength and abilities will always set him apart and make him dangerous. That belief grows into resentment and hatred, driving Lex to prove that Superman is not a savior but a threat.

The speech released by DC Studios comes during their final confrontation, when Superman tries one last time to get through to Lex.

That is where you’ve always been wrong about me, Lex. I’m as human as anyone. I love, I get scared, I wake up every morning and, despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other and I try to make the best choices that I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being a human and that’s my greatest strength. And someday, I hope, for the sake of the world, you understand that it’s yours too.

Warner Bros. says the movie will be available to rent or buy digitally starting August 15. The 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD versions will hit stores on September 23. The home release will be packed with extras, including deleted scenes, a gag reel, nine behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a full director’s commentary from Gunn.

One of the biggest bonuses is a one-hour documentary called Adventures in Making Superman, which shows how the film came together. There’s also Icons Forever: Superman’s Enduring Legacy, a look at Superman’s lasting impact, and Lex Luthor: The Mind of a Master Villain, which focuses on Hoult’s take on the character.

With this speech now online, the conversation about the movie has only grown, and many fans say it’s the kind of moment that will stick with them long after the credits roll.
