Brad Pitt’s relationship with two of his adopted sons seems to have reached a breaking point. According to the Daily Mail, the 61-year-old actor has given up on fixing things with Maddox, 23, and Pax, 21, after years of tension and public clashes.

Several weeks ago, Pax was spotted stumbling out of a hotel late at night with friends before heading to the Deja Vu strip club in the Hollywood Hills. He stayed until nearly 2:30 in the morning.

A source told the Daily Mail that Pitt has stopped worrying about Pax’s behavior. “He has zero concern with what Pax does or doesn’t do. [Pax’s] actions reflect who he is. Brad honestly considers his relationship with Pax unfixable.”

The falling out goes back years. Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia by Angelina Jolie before Pitt later became his legal father, reportedly hasn’t used Pitt’s last name for a long time. Back in 2019, he was asked if his relationship with Pitt was over for good and replied, “Whatever happens, happens.” Their issues trace back to a fight on a private jet in 2016, which reportedly played a big role in Pitt and Jolie’s split.

Pax has been even more outspoken. In a harsh Father’s Day post in 2020, he called Pitt “a world class a**hole” and accused him of being “a terrible and despicable person.” He also claimed that Pitt’s younger children were afraid of him.

People close to Pitt believe the children’s anger comes from how Jolie raised them after the divorce. A source told the Daily Mail, “Brad believes that whatever his kids are going through right now is a direct result of how they have been raised. They are now old enough to make their own choices and if their choices include drama that is all on them.”

But someone close to Jolie pushed back, telling the outlet, “Brad continues to play the victim. His fractured relationship with his children is a direct result of how he has treated them. He should stop blaming others. If he wants to rebuild a relationship with the kids, he should acknowledge his own actions and make amends.”

The split with his adopted sons stands in sharp contrast to the hope Pitt still has for his other four children. His daughter Shiloh, now 19, recently dropped Pitt from her name, legally choosing to go by Shiloh Jolie. At least three more of the kids are also said to go by “Jolie” instead of “Pitt.” Even so, a source said that Brad still “holds out hope that the others will one day come around. Time heals wounds.”

Pitt’s family in Missouri also wishes things would change. His elderly father William, and the extended Pitt clan, full of cousins the kids used to see during vacations, are reportedly heartbroken over the distance. “The Pitt family was hoping that after Brad and Angelina’s divorce was finalized the kids would come around and re-establish a relationship,” said one insider.

But as far as the family drama goes, there’s no sign of peace anytime soon.
