Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror was supposed to be the next big villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over from Thanos as the main threat for the next three phases.

Fans knew replacing Thanos wouldn’t be easy, but no one expected Kang to get such a lukewarm reception. According to reactions from Marvel fans online, the character didn’t land the way the studio probably hoped.

Kang technically first appeared in the Loki TV series as He Who Remains, the head of the TVA. This version of Kang was the variant who won the Multiversal War and created a single “Sacred Timeline” to stop other Kang variants from rising and starting another war.

Then Kang the Conqueror appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, another variant. This one was quickly defeated by Ant-Man, which disappointed many fans who expected a much bigger confrontation.

In Loki Season 2, we met Victor Timely, another Kang variant. Fans generally liked Timely, and the show received positive reviews. But Jonathan Majors ran into serious legal trouble after Quantumania, accused of domestic violence by his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

After the lawsuit found him guilty, Disney fired Majors. Marvel then started planning to replace Kang with Doctor Doom, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doom. Kevin Feige, Marvel’s head, revealed that plans to introduce Doom were in motion even before Majors’ legal issues.

This left fans wondering how Marvel would wrap up Kang’s storyline. Some creative solutions have started to pop up online, and one fan theory on Facebook gained attention for its simplicity and humor. The idea is that Deadpool could have just eliminated Kang in a post-credit scene for Deadpool & Wolverine.

The theory imagines the scene following a classic MCU pattern, with Kang teasing some ominous plot point. Deadpool would then appear, shoot Kang in the head, and say, “We’re not doing that storyline anymore.” Fans praised this idea for being funny, unpredictable, and an easy way to solve the MCU’s current problem with Kang.

The concept shows how much fans are thinking about creative ways to fix Marvel’s continuity. It’s bold, humorous, and fits Deadpool’s unpredictable style perfectly.

For now, fans are left waiting to see how Marvel handles the fallout from Majors’ exit and how Doom’s introduction will shape the next phase of the MCU.
