[Trailer] ‘Fallout’ Season 2 Unleashes Deathclaw, Mr. House, and New Vegas Chaos
The first trailer for Fallout season 2 has finally dropped during Opening Night Live 2025, and fans now know when the show will return. Amazon confirmed that the next chapter of the post-apocalyptic series will premiere on December 17, 2025.
The trailer gives a proper look at where the story is heading after season 1. Walton Goggins’ Ghoul and Ella Purnell’s Lucy are shown making their way to New Vegas, the legendary wasteland city that Fallout: New Vegas players know very well. The neon-soaked strip is at the heart of season 2, and this time Lucy’s father Hank, played by Kyle MacLachlan, is shown holding power there.

Maximus, played by Aaron Moten, appears with a new Brotherhood of Steel outfit as his faction gears up for battle. There are also scenes from before the war. Cooper Howard, played by Goggins, is seen in pre-war New Vegas visiting the Lucky 38, the casino owned by Mr. House. Fans get their first look at Justin Theroux in the role of Mr. House, a major figure in the Fallout world. Cooper’s story also hints at a clash with Mr. House and his wife, who were last seen scheming about the end of the world.
The trailer leaves the question hanging: will we finally learn the truth about how the bombs really fell?
The trailer also teases one of Fallout’s most famous monsters. A Deathclaw appears briefly, showing just how dangerous the wasteland can be. Talking on stage at gamescom, Ella Purnell spoke about Lucy’s path in the new season. “The question is, what is she going to do when she finds her dad? Is she going to give him wasteland justice? Will Lucy transform the Ghoul, or will the Ghoul transform Lucy?”
New posters for the season have also been released:

Fallout’s first season premiered on April 10, 2024, and was well received for its performances, design, and loyalty to the games. Amazon renewed the series quickly, and even confirmed a third season ahead of the second one’s debut. The show has also earned 17 Emmy nominations, including one for Walton Goggins.
Now, with New Vegas in play, season 2 looks ready to expand Fallout’s world even further. Lucy is heading into the strip to confront her father, Maximus is preparing for war, and the Ghoul continues his long journey through the wasteland.
