Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell Shine in First Trailer for ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’
Sony Pictures has finally released the trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, a romantic fantasy film starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. Directed by Kogonada and written by Seth Reiss, the movie tells the story of two strangers who find themselves connected by an unimaginable journey.
The film also features Kevin Kline, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Brandon Perea, Chloe East, Hamish Linklater, and more.

Margot Robbie plays Sarah, while Colin Farrell takes on the role of David. The movie also introduces Lucy Thomas in her first major role, alongside a strong supporting cast.
The film is scheduled to open in theaters in the United States and Canada on September 19, 2025, after being moved from its earlier May 2025 release date.
The project first gained attention back in December 2020, when Reiss’s script was highlighted on the annual Black List. In February 2024, it was announced that Kogonada would direct, with both Robbie and Farrell in talks to star.
Later, it was reported that Sony Pictures bought the film at the European Film Market in a deal said to be worth around $50 million, calling it one of the most talked-about scripts of the market.
Production began in California in April 2024, with Robbie and Farrell leading the cast. Soon after, more names were added, including Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Jodie Turner-Smith. By May, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Hamish Linklater, Brandon Perea, Chloe East, Yuvi Hecht, Calahan Skogman, and Jennifer Grant joined as well, rounding out an ensemble of both veterans and fresh faces.
The film’s premise has been kept under wraps, but Sony Pictures describes it simply as the story of two strangers brought together by an extraordinary and life-changing journey. With Kogonada’s thoughtful style and Reiss’s unique writing, expectations are already high.
Now, with the trailer released, fans are finally getting a first look at the film’s dreamlike tone and romantic atmosphere.
The teaser doesn’t give away much of the story, but it highlights Robbie and Farrell’s chemistry while showing flashes of the emotional adventure their characters go on.
