[First Look] ‘Devil May Cry’ Season 2 Teaser Ignites Dante vs. Vergil’s Legendary Showdown
Anime NYC kicked off with some big news from Netflix, and one of the biggest announcements was for Adi Shankar’s Devil May Cry anime.
The show’s first season came out earlier this year and fans loved it, especially with Johnny Yong Bosch voicing Dante, the stylish half-demon bounty hunter. Now Netflix has confirmed that the series will be back for a second season in 2026, and the first teaser has already dropped.
The teaser doesn’t hold back either, setting up the moment fans have been waiting for: Dante versus his brother Vergil.

The first season of Devil May Cry pulled together story elements from across the Capcom games to build Dante’s journey. It showed him struggling with his demonic bloodline while being pulled into a huge battle to stop an invasion from Hell.
Along the way, Dante clashed with the U.S. government’s Dark Realm Command, led by Vice President William Baines, played by the late Kevin Conroy. He also fought alongside Mary, better known as Lady, voiced by Scout Taylor-Compton.
Together they faced down the White Rabbit, a terrorist who tried to rip open the gates of Hell. Dante eventually stopped the attack, but things didn’t end happily.
Even though Dante and Mary gained some respect for each other, she still handed him over to the government because of his dangerous powers. That allowed Baines to continue his plans, which included invading Hell itself and locking up demons. But in a twist at the end of the season, Vergil appeared.
Played by Robbie Daymond, Vergil was shown alive and helping free the captured demons while working under the command of Mundus, the ruler of Hell. The reveal made it clear that the brothers were heading toward a fight. The new teaser proves that’s exactly what’s coming, with Dante and Vergil finally ready to cross swords.
Season two will once again be led by Adi Shankar and his writing partner Alex Larsen. Shankar is no stranger to Netflix adaptations, having previously worked on Castlevania, Castlevania: Nocturne, and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
Most of the cast from season one is expected to return, though Kevin Conroy sadly passed away in 2022. Ian James Corlett, who recorded extra dialogue for Baines, might step in, but nothing has been confirmed yet. More casting news should be revealed as the release gets closer.
Devil May Cry season two is set to release in 2026, with Netflix sharing the teaser as the first look at the battle between Dante and Vergil.
