The first teaser for The Carpenter’s Son has been released, giving audiences a glimpse at Nicolas Cage, FKA Twigs, Noah Jupe, and Souheila Yacoub in Lotfy Nathan’s upcoming horror film. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters this fall.

Set in Roman Egypt, the story follows a family in hiding. The young boy, played by Noah Jupe, starts to discover powers he does not fully understand.

He rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, played by Nicolas Cage, and faces dangers that are both natural and supernatural. FKA Twigs plays the Mother, while Souheila Yacoub also stars in the film.

The script draws inspiration from the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, a 2nd-century text that explores the childhood of Jesus. This gives the story its unique blend of historical setting and dark supernatural elements.

Filming began in September 2024 in Megara. During production, Cage reportedly had a frightening encounter with a swarm of bees in one of the caves used as a location. In May 2025, Magnolia Pictures acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the film.

The teaser shows a dark and tense atmosphere, promising a horror story that mixes family drama with ancient legend and supernatural terror.

Nicolas Cage always brings intensity to his roles, and pairing him with FKA Twigs and Noah Jupe in a historical horror setting is intriguing. The teaser hints at a creepy and suspenseful story, and it will be interesting to see how Nathan adapts this ancient text into a modern horror film.
