It has been a busy week on Prime Video, and the mix is delightfully all over the map. Big new releases are rubbing shoulders with comfort rewatches and franchise staples, which makes for a lineup that has something for everyone.

Below is the full rundown in countdown order from ten to one. Each entry includes the essentials you asked for, including plot points along with directors, writers, and the key cast.

Jon M Chu directs this screen version of the Broadway phenomenon, adapted by Winnie Holzman with songs by Stephen Schwartz from the stage musical inspired by Gregory Maguire’s novel. Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba and Ariana Grande plays Glinda, with Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard.

The story follows Elphaba’s years at Shiz University and the events that recast her as the so called Wicked Witch, while Glinda’s rise unfolds in parallel as the two navigate politics and power in Oz. The film was produced by Marc Platt and Universal Pictures and split the stage story into two parts to preserve character arcs and major musical numbers.

The story centers on the AllSpark and a battle between Autobots and Decepticons that brings the war on Cybertron to Earth. Paramount Pictures distributed the film, which launched a long running series and became one of the highest grossing releases of 2007.

The film follows the brothers’ arrival in the Mushroom Kingdom and their fight to stop Bowser’s plan involving the Super Star. Its release broke multiple box office records for animated features and set the stage for another ‘Super Mario’ film now in development.

Set generations after Caesar, the story tracks Noa’s journey as he confronts a coastal empire seeking human technology and wrestles with whether apes and humans can coexist. The film was produced by 20th Century Studios and premiered in May 2024.

The plot follows a newly hired cash truck guard whose lethal skill set signals a hidden agenda as multiple crews aim for an armored car score. The film was produced by Miramax and Toff Guy Films and released in the United States in May 2021.

Leigh Whannell directs and co writes with Corbett Tuck in this reboot of the Universal Monsters character. Christopher Abbott plays Blake Lovell, Julia Garner plays Charlotte Lovell, and Sam Jaeger plays Grady Lovell, with Jason Blum producing through Blumhouse and Universal distributing.

The story follows a family man who barricades his loved ones against a predator in the night and then begins to exhibit symptoms of a curse after being attacked. Principal photography took place in New Zealand and the film opened in January 2025.

Tim Story directs this heist action comedy written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows. Eddie Murphy plays Russell Pierce and Pete Davidson plays Travis Stolly, with Keke Palmer as Zoe and Eva Longoria as Natalie Pierce, joined by Jack Kesy and others.

The plot begins with an armored truck run that goes sideways and leads to a larger casino score, pulling a veteran driver and his rookie partner into a high risk plan. Produced by Davis Entertainment, Eddie Murphy Productions, and The Story Company, it was released by Amazon MGM Studios on Prime Video in August 2025.

Lasse Hallström directs this romantic drama adapted by Vera Herbert and Les Bohem from J P Monninger’s novel. Madelyn Cline plays Heather Mulgrew and KJ Apa plays Jack, with Sofia Wylie as Connie, Madison Thompson as Amy, Orlando Norman as Raef, and Josh Lucas as Greg.

The story follows recent graduates on a European trip where Heather meets Jack on a night train and their travels through Spain, Portugal, and Italy force difficult choices about love and the future. Produced by Temple Hill Entertainment and released by Amazon MGM Studios on Prime Video in August 2025, the film runs ninety eight minutes.
