Peacock’s first full week of September brings a tidy trio: a long-running true-crime staple, a hit animated saga from the ‘Ninjago’ universe, and a brand-new mockumentary set in the world of ‘The Office.’ Below, you’ll find what’s arriving between Monday, September 1 and Sunday, September 7, 2025, along with key details on plots, casts, and who’s making each project happen.

If you’re planning your queue, this guide keeps things simple: exact arrival dates are called out in each entry, and we’ve included core creative teams so you know who’s behind the camera as well as who’s on screen or behind the mic.

Oxygen

True-crime docuseries ‘Buried in the Backyard’ lands on Peacock on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Each episode retraces investigations where victims are discovered in deceptively ordinary places—suburban lawns, beaches, wooded areas, even snowbound fields—through interviews with law enforcement and families, case footage, and reenactments that follow detectives from identification to motive to arrest. The series originated on Oxygen True Crime and has explored themed cases across multiple seasons.

The show is produced by Renegade 83 (a division of Lionsgate Alternative Television) with executive producers David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Bob Kusbit, and Billie Speer; Bobby Munster serves as co-executive producer. Narration duties have been handled by voice actor Sadie Medley, and Season 6 began its Oxygen run in July 2025 before rolling to streaming.

WildBrain Studios

‘LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising’ streams on Peacock beginning Thursday, September 4, 2025. Set after a cataclysm known as the Merge, the sequel series follows new heroes Arin and Sora as they train with veteran ninja like Lloyd to defend dragons and keep powerful elemental forces out of villainous hands. Episodes run about 22 minutes and continue the continuity of the original ‘Ninjago’ while opening the world to new realms, clans, and antagonists.

The animated series is produced by WildBrain Studios in partnership with The Lego Group. The voice cast features Deven Christian Mack (Arin), Sabrina Pitre (Sora), Sam Vincent (Lloyd), Brian Drummond (Ras/Riyu), and franchise mainstays including Vincent Tong, Michael Adamthwaite, Kelly Metzger, Brent Miller, and Andrew Francis. Earlier seasons premiered on Netflix before expanding to additional platforms.

‘The Paper’ (2025)

'The Paper' (2025)
Universal Television

‘The Paper’ premieres on Peacock on Thursday, September 4, 2025, with all ten episodes available at once. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, the mockumentary follows the documentary crew from ‘The Office’ as they decamp to Toledo, Ohio to chronicle the resurrection of a historic local newspaper, the Toledo Truth Teller. The series uses a newsroom setting to track budget pressures, ownership shifts, and community reporting in a familiar fly-on-the-wall style.

The ensemble is led by Domhnall Gleeson as editor-in-chief Ned Sampson and Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda Grand, with Oscar Nuñez reprising Oscar Martínez from ‘The Office’; additional cast includes Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Produced by Universal Television with Deedle-Dee Productions and partners, the series counts Daniels and Koman among its executive producers.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ (1983– )

'Wheel of Fortune' (1983– )
Columbia TriStar Television

‘Wheel of Fortune’ arrives on Peacock on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The long-running game show revolves around contestants solving word puzzles on a illuminated letter board, earning cash and prizes by spinning a 2,400-pound wheel, and advancing through toss-up rounds, regular play, and a bonus round with time-limited solves. Puzzles span categories like Phrase, Before & After, Proper Name, and What Are You Doing, with gameplay built around buying vowels, calling consonants, and avoiding hazards such as Bankrupt and Lose a Turn.

The series was created by Merv Griffin and is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with the nationally syndicated nighttime version taping at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. The current on-air team features a host and a co-host who operates the puzzleboard and appears in promotional segments, and the show’s production package includes signature cues derived from Griffin’s theme music, a studio audience setup that highlights the wheel platform, and long-standing partnerships with prize providers ranging from automobiles to vacation travel.

Tell us which of these you’re cueing up first on Peacock this week in the comments!
