Dust Bunny is an upcoming horror thriller movie that is written, produced, and directed by Bryan Fuller.

This will be his first time directing a full-length feature film. The movie stars Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver, and David Dastmalchian.

The story follows an eight-year-old girl named Aurora, played by Sophie Sloan. She asks her neighbor for help to kill a monster hiding under her bed, a monster that has already eaten her family. Other actors in the movie include Rebecca Henderson and Sheila Atim. Fans are in luck since the first trailer was released today.

The project was first reported in November 2022, when it was announced that Bryan Fuller would make a “family horror film” called Dust Bunny from a script he wrote himself. Mads Mikkelsen joined the movie as the lead actor.

In June 2023, Sigourney Weaver confirmed her role in the New York Social Diary, saying she plays “another person who’s not so nice, opposite Mikkelsen.” David Dastmalchian was added to the cast in December 2023.

Filming began in Budapest in June 2023. Because Dust Bunny is not part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the production was allowed to keep filming even during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

The movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness program on September 9. After that, it will be released in theaters across the United States on December 5.
