Fred Armisen Confirms New ‘Wednesday’ Spinoff Featuring Fan-Favorite Character
Fans of Wednesday have a reason to get excited. Even before the buzz from Season 2 has died down, news has surfaced about a new spinoff featuring one of the show’s most beloved characters.
Uncle Fester, known for his wild, funny, and oddly charming presence, will be getting his own series. Netflix reportedly shares the same love for the character, and plans are officially in motion.
Talk of an Uncle Fester spinoff has been around since 2023, when rumors first suggested that Netflix wanted to expand the Wednesday universe. At the time, nothing concrete came from those reports.
The confirmation finally came when Fred Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
He told Fallon that the spinoff is actually happening and revealed that Tim Burton is involved in the project. “Yes, it’s happening. Tim Burton is on board,” Armisen said, though he did not share any other details about the show.

It is expected that the Uncle Fester spinoff will not premiere before Season 3 of Wednesday, which means fans will have to wait a while to see the character back on screen. For now, excitement is building as the series begins to take shape.
