First Clip of Liam Hemsworth in Action as Geralt of Rivia in ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Released
Fans of The Witcher finally know when Season 4 is coming to Netflix, and they’ve also been given their first real look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
Netflix has confirmed that the new season will premiere on October 30, 2025. The announcement came with a teaser trailer and some photos from the set.
The trailer shows Hemsworth stepping into the role made famous by Henry Cavill. In one scene, Geralt faces off against a wraith. “With these words, your mortal shell shall meet my fate in fiery hell!” he declares before being dragged through the forest.
He quickly recovers, draws his sword, and slices the creature apart. The fight ends with Geralt tearing out the wraith’s heart, which turns to dust as The Witcher logo fades in.

Netflix also shared the official description for the new season. “After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…”

Though Netflix only confirmed the release date now, fans had already picked up on hints earlier this week. Liam Hemsworth is scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show on October 28, just two days before the season drops.
Since this is his only upcoming project, it’s expected that he’ll use the appearance to promote the show and maybe give fans another sneak peek.
The Witcher first arrived on Netflix in 2019 with Henry Cavill as Geralt, and he stayed in the role for the first three seasons.
Cavill stepped away in 2022, and Hemsworth was announced as his replacement soon after. Netflix later confirmed that the show had been renewed for a fifth and final season in 2024. Along with Hemsworth, the cast of Season 4 includes Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren, and Joey Batey.
The Witcher Season 4 will be streaming worldwide on Netflix starting October 30.
