Set over a single night on England’s North Sea coast, ‘Jackdaw’ follows a former motocross champion and army veteran who accepts a dangerous pickup job that threatens to entangle his family and his past; it arrives on Tuesday, September 16. The story unfolds in and around Hartlepool with a high-stakes retrieval at sea, escalating into criminal crossfire as the night wears on.

Written and directed by Jamie Childs in his feature debut, the film stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jack, Jenna Coleman as Bo, Thomas Turgoose as Craig, and Rory McCann as Armstrong, with cinematography by Will Baldy; the runtime is 97 minutes. The project was produced by Anton with Childs among the producers.

An indie horror-thriller centered on Felicia, a domestic-violence survivor who begins seeing a menacing figure known as “Black Boots” during a pandemic lockdown, ‘Alone’ lands on Thursday, September 18. The plot charts Felicia’s isolation turning claustrophobic as the stalking intensifies inside her apartment—blurring the line between trauma and a tangible threat.

The film stars Mandi Mellen as Felicia with Dan Salem, Emily Jira, and Princess Punzalan among the supporting cast; Mellen and Salem also share writing and directing credits on the project. Additional credited roles include Dan Salem as Charles and Princess Punzalan as Dr. Whitney.

A biographical drama inspired by the life of Whitney Wolfe Herd, ‘Swiped’ traces her exit from co-founding Tinder and the creation of Bumble amid a male-dominated tech culture; it arrives on Friday, September 19. The film dramatizes key chapters from the early-2010s app boom through Wolfe Herd’s perspective, including the professional rifts that preceded her new platform’s women-first approach.

Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, the film is written by Goldenberg, Bill Parker, and Kim Caramele. Lily James stars as Whitney Wolfe Herd, with Dan Stevens, Myha’la, Jackson White, Ben Schnetzer, Pierson Fodé, and Clea DuVall co-starring; production credits include Jennifer Gibgot, Andrew Panay, and Lily James as producers.

The film looks back at the movement’s origins and impact with extensive archival footage and new interviews from original performers and contemporary artists reflecting on the festival’s legacy.

Directed by Ally Pankiw and produced by Dan Levy and Christina Piovesan, the documentary features voices including Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Jewel, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Rodrigo, the Indigo Girls, and more; it had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2025.
