Anaconda is a reimagining of the 1997 original and marks the sixth film in the franchise. The story follows Doug, played by Jack Black, a wedding videographer, and Griff, played by Paul Rudd, a background actor, who travel to the Amazon rainforest to recreate their favorite movie from childhood.
Things quickly go wrong when a real giant anaconda appears on set, turning their fun project into a dangerous adventure. “The movie they’re dying to make? It might just kill them,” Sony Pictures said in a statement.

The ensemble cast also includes Selton Mello as Santiago Braga, Daniela Melchior as Ana Almeida, Thandiwe Newton as Claire Simons, and Steve Zahn as Kenny Trent. Ione Skye appears as Doug’s wife, Malie McCallister, and Ben Lawson has a supporting role.
The film is directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the script with Kevin Etten. Production began in January 2025 in Australia and wrapped in February. According to reports, the movie blends action, horror, and comedy, giving fans both thrills and laughs.
This version of Anaconda could be a lot of fun, especially with Jack Black and Paul Rudd leading the cast. The first look and featurette suggest it will be chaotic, funny, and exciting. Are you looking forward to this wild ride? Share your thoughts in the comments.
