Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for Lazarus, a new horror-thriller series from Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst. The show is set to debut on October 22, with all six episodes dropping at once.

The series follows a forensic psychologist, played by Sam Claflin, who returns to his childhood home after his father’s death. There, he begins to dig into a string of unsolved murders, uncovering dark secrets along the way. Bill Nighy stars as his father, Dr. Lazarus, with Alexandra Roach playing Jenna Lazarus.

The cast also includes David Fynn, Karla Crome, Kate Ashfield, Curtis Tennant, Lloyd Lai, and Roisin Gallagher. According to reports, Claflin, along with Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee, also serves as executive producer through Quay Street Productions. Director Wayne Che Yip helmed the first two episodes, with Matt Strevens working as series producer.

Production began in Manchester in early 2024, with additional scenes shot in Morecambe. Speaking about the series, Coben and Brocklehurst said they wanted to create something both chilling and emotional, blending family drama with a classic mystery.

The trailer gives fans a first glimpse at the tense and eerie atmosphere of the show, teasing psychological scares and a story filled with shocking twists.

Lazarus looks like the kind of series that fans of Coben’s work have been waiting for. The combination of strong casting, a chilling story, and his signature suspense makes it a promising release for this fall. What about you? Are you planning to check out Lazarus when it premieres?
