Netflix’s new adult animated series Haunted Hotel is coming back for a second season. The show first premiered on September 19, and quickly became a hit. The streaming service announced the renewal on September 26, just a week after the debut.

Haunted Hotel is created by Matt Roller, who has written for Rick and Morty, and is produced by Netflix Animation.

The series mixes comedy and horror as it follows Katherine, a woman trying to run a hotel that is haunted by the ghosts of past residents. She gets help from her brother Nathan, who is a ghost, and together they try to manage the hotel while dealing with unusual supernatural problems.

The family also meets Abaddon, an immortal demon trapped in the body of a young boy from the 1700s, who helps them fight off other spirits, murderers, and dark forces.

The show features a strong voice cast, including Will Forte as Nathan, Eliza Coupe as Katherine, Skyler Gisondo as Katherine’s son Ben, Natalie Palamides as her daughter Esther, and Jimmi Simpson as Abaddon. Each character brings humor and personality to the haunted hotel setting, creating a mix of funny and spooky moments.

Roller shared his excitement about the show in a statement to Netflix, saying, “I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel.”

Billy Wee, Netflix’s Director of Adult Animation, also praised the team, adding, “Haunted Hotel is wildly inventive and I’m very grateful to Matt, Chris, Dan, and their team for bringing their talents to Netflix. They are phenomenal collaborators, and I can’t wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show.”

The series has drawn attention for its unique mix of comedy, horror, and family dynamics. Fans can expect more supernatural adventures, laughs, and spooky surprises in the upcoming second season.
