Neon has released the second and final trailer for Shelby Oaks, the indie horror movie directed by YouTube movie reviewer Chris Stuckmann.

This is Stuckmann’s first feature film, though he has made short films before. Fans who have followed him talking about movies for years are especially excited about this one. The film first premiered at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival and also played at FrightFest. It will hit theaters in the United States on October 24, 2025.

Shelby Oaks tells the story of Mia Brennan, played by Camille Sullivan, who is desperate to find her missing younger sister, Riley.

As Mia searches for Riley, she becomes obsessed and starts to wonder if the imaginary demon from their childhood might have been real. Who took Riley Brennan? is the question that drives the story. The cast also includes Michael Beach, Keith David, Sarah Durn, Brendan Sexton III, and Robin Bartlett.

Fans can even explore a viral website tied to the movie, full of clues and footage about Riley, though to get the full story, viewers will need to see the film.

The film is produced by Aaron B. Koontz, Cameron Burns, and Ashleigh Snead. It continues the online series about the Paranormal Paranoids, a fictional paranormal investigation team that Sarah Durn starred in. This story follows Mia’s journey into the mysterious and abandoned town of Shelby Oaks as she searches for her sister.

Shelby Oaks had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 20, 2024. It also screened at FrightFest on August 23, 2024, and at Fantastic Fest on September 19 of this year.

Neon is distributing the movie in the U.S., and it was originally scheduled for release in August, then moved to early October before settling on October 24.

Critics have given the movie mostly positive reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, 85% of 34 reviews were favorable. The site’s consensus reads, “Shelby Oaks may stumble in its final moments, but its atmospheric tension and emotional core firmly establish it as a chilling debut from director Chris Stuckmann.”

On Metacritic, the movie received a score of 55 out of 100, which means reviews were mixed or average.

With its creepy atmosphere and strong performances, especially from Camille Sullivan, Shelby Oaks looks like a must-watch for horror fans this fall.
