A brand-new teaser has just dropped for Vince Gilligan’s next big project, the upcoming Apple TV+ series called Pluribus, or as it’s officially styled, PLUR1BUS.

Fans of Gilligan know him as the mind behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and this time he’s stepping into the world of science fiction drama.

The show is led by Rhea Seehorn, who worked closely with Gilligan on Better Call Saul. Apple has already shown big faith in the project by ordering two full seasons before its premiere.

According to Apple TV+, the first season will kick off with two episodes on November 7, followed by new ones every Friday until December 26.

Pluribus takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The story follows Carol Sturka, played by Seehorn, an author who finds herself in a strange position. A mysterious virus sweeps through people, making them permanently happy and optimistic, but somehow, she’s the only one who doesn’t fall under its spell.

Alongside Seehorn, the main cast includes Karolina Wydra as Zosia and Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manusos. Guest stars appearing in the series include Miriam Shor as Helen and Samba Schutte.

The road to getting Pluribus on screen wasn’t without challenges. Gilligan first pitched the idea in August 2022, after wrapping up Better Call Saul, with Sony Pictures Television backing him.

The following month, Apple TV+ grabbed the rights and locked in a two-season deal. Production faced a bump in 2023 when the Writers Guild of America strike put the scripts on pause. Writing picked back up in October of that year, and filming finally began in February 2024 in Albuquerque under the working title Wycaro 339.

Shooting wrapped in September 2024 after seven months of work. The official title, Pluribus, was announced in July along with its release date.

Now, with the teaser out, excitement is growing for Gilligan’s latest creation. Apple TV+ promises a nine-episode first season that looks to mix suspense, mystery, and a touch of the strange.
