Netflix’s Smash-Hit Comedy-Drama Drops Exciting Season 2 Update
Netflix’s hit comedy-drama series The Four Seasons is officially back for a second season. The news came straight from Netflix, which shared a cast photo on social media to confirm that season 2 has entered production.
The Four Seasons is an American comedy-drama created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield.
The show stars Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and Will Forte. It’s based on the 1981 film of the same name written and directed by Alan Alda, who also has a guest role in the series.
The show first premiered on Netflix on May 1, and quickly became popular. In May 2025, Netflix announced that it had been renewed for a second season.
The story follows Kate, played by Tina Fey, and her husband Jack, a schoolteacher played by Will Forte. Steve Carell plays Nick, a hedge fund manager who is about to divorce his wife Anne, played by Kerri Kenney-Silver.
Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani play married couple Danny and Claude, and Erika Henningsen appears as Ginny, a dental hygienist Nick starts dating after his divorce.
The show was produced by Little Stranger Inc., with Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield as executive producers. Alan Alda and Marissa Bregman, the daughter of the original film’s producer, are also credited as producers. Filming took place in New York and Puerto Rico during the second half of 2024.
Critics have mostly liked the show. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 77% approval rating, saying, “Welcoming as a lakeside vista and occasionally just as placid, The Four Seasons isn’t as breezily funny as creator Tina Fey’s best work but often just as witty and wise.” Metacritic gave it a score of 61 out of 100, indicating generally favorable reviews.
With season 2 officially in production, fans can expect more of the witty and heartfelt stories that made the first season a hit. Netflix’s social media post confirmed that the original cast is returning, giving viewers plenty to look forward to.
