Taylor Swift is set to make a big impact at the U.S. box office with her new cinematic event, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl. The film is expected to earn between $29 million and $31 million during its opening weekend across 3,700 theaters.

Friday alone could bring in $15 million to $16 million, according to box office analysts, not AMC Theatres.

Some predictions have been higher, suggesting the opening could reach $40 million. Much of this early revenue is expected to come from advance ticket sales.

Fans are eager to see the film on the same day as Swift’s album release, The Life of a Showgirl. Analysts say this front-loaded interest shows the loyalty of Swift’s fanbase.

Swift managed to secure Premium Large Format screens for her film just two weeks after announcing it. This allowed her to compete with major releases like Dwayne Johnson’s The Smashing Machine, Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another, and James Cameron’s re-release of Avatar: The Way of Water. She accomplished this with very little promotion, highlighting the strength of her brand and fan support.

On the music side, Swift continues to break records. Pre-saves for Showgirl exceeded five million, and she recently set the record for the most single-day streams on Spotify. While first-week album sales have not yet been reported, Swift is the only artist to have sold more than one million albums in a week seven times. Her bestselling album, 1989, has sold 14 million copies in the U.S. and gone platinum internationally.

Taylor Swift has proven once again that she can dominate both music and box office charts. Her ability to generate massive fan excitement for a film and album at the same time is remarkable. The Official Release Party of a Showgirl shows the power of her influence and could set a new standard for event-style releases.
