Dario Scardapane Confirms Release Window for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2
Daredevil fans have something big to look forward to. After the success of the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, the cast and crew have been busy working on the next chapter.
Showrunner Dario Scardapane recently confirmed on social media that the second season will arrive in March 2026. The new season will have eight episodes and will be part of Marvel’s Phase Six lineup.

Filming for Season 2 started on February 28, 2025, under the working title Out the Kitchen 2. Directors Benson and Moorhead, Naim, MacDonald, and Barnes returned to lead different episodes.
Hillary Fyfe Spera, who worked on the first season, came back as cinematographer and teamed up with Jeffrey Waldron for some episodes. Philip Silvera also returned as stunt coordinator and second unit director.
Production took place in different parts of New York City. In late March, filming was spotted in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where Charlie Cox was seen wearing his black Daredevil suit at the Josie’s Bar set. A few weeks later, actor Wilson Bethel filmed scenes in Chelsea. By mid-May, half of the filming was done, and everything wrapped up by July 9.
According to writer Justin Wigutow, the second season will be a bigger story that dives deep into New York’s dark corners. “It’s a very big portrait that we’re telling, a big New York City story, crime, politics,” Wigutow told Collider. “Obviously, we have Mayor Fisk and all of the palace intrigue around him inside City Hall. All of it, I think, is really awesome.”
He also said that the new season will lead to an intense showdown between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. “We told this really big story, it got very wide, and then we kind of drive it in the finale to really what matters most… these two characters and the conflict that they’re in,” Wigutow explained. “How deeply they hate each other, and how deeply they need each other.”
Fans of the original Netflix Daredevil series can expect familiar faces to return. Deborah Ann Woll is coming back as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal will return as The Punisher, and Krysten Ritter will once again appear as Jessica Jones. This has already sparked hope that other members of Marvel’s Defenders, like Luke Cage and Iron Fist, might show up too.
Marvel Studios also confirmed that a special Punisher episode, planned during the first season, will be released sometime in 2026 under the Marvel Studios Special Presentations banner.
The story doesn’t end there. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is already in development and is expected to debut in March 2027 as part of Phase Six. Even though Charlie Cox once said that Season 2 would be the last, Marvel Television boss Brad Winderbaum made it clear that a third season is moving forward.
Wigutow hinted that Season 3 will take things in a new direction. “It is a continuation, but it is a new direction, and it is leaving a lot of what was built in [Seasons] 1 and 2 behind,” he said. The writers’ room for the next season hasn’t officially started yet, but Wigutow added that they’ll be meeting soon. “We’re reconvening in the next week or two as a creative trust in a writers’ room,” he shared.
With new characters, bigger stakes, and the return of old favorites, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 looks set to be one of the most exciting chapters in the Marvel TV universe.
