Netflix is bringing the world of Splinter Cell to screens with a new adult animated series called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The show, produced by Ubisoft Film & Television, is set to premiere on October 14.

Fans got a first look at the series thanks to IGN, which released an exclusive scene showing Sam Fisher in action, proving he’s still as skilled and stealthy as ever.

The series follows Sam Fisher, voiced by Liev Schreiber, who leads Fourth Echelon, a secret U.S. government unit that handles counter-terrorism and covert operations. Derek Kolstad, known for his work on John Wick, serves as lead writer and executive producer. Guillaume Dousse directs the series, with Félicien Colmet-Daage as co-director.

Other voice actors include Janet Varney as Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir, the team’s tech operations officer, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia McKenna, and Joel Oulette as Thunder.

The project was first announced in July 2020, when Ubisoft confirmed plans to adapt the popular video game franchise into an animated show for Netflix. Initially, reports suggested a two-season order, but Kolstad later clarified that only the first season was officially approved and it would take several years to release.

Michael Ironside, who previously voiced Sam Fisher in the games, confirmed in August 2024 that he was too old to reprise the role. Schreiber was later announced as the new voice of Fisher when Netflix released a first look at the series. Animation is provided by Sun Creature Studio from Denmark and France, alongside the French studio Fost.
