Netflix Cooks Up Chaos: A24 Developing ‘Overcooked’ Reality Competition Series
Netflix is cooking up something wild with A24, a reality competition show based on the hit video game Overcooked. According to Deadline, the two companies are teaming up to bring the chaotic, fast-paced kitchen fun of the game to television.
The project is said to be inspired by Netflix’s family-friendly shows like Nailed It! and Floor Is Lava, but with the frantic energy that Overcooked fans know so well. Contestants will face off in crazy cooking challenges, working together to prepare and serve dishes while dealing with unexpected obstacles and total kitchen mayhem.
The series is still in early development, but it already has some big names behind it. Executive producers include Gemma Langford, Oli De-Vine, and Phil Duncan from Ghost Town Games, the studio that created Overcooked, along with A24, marking the company’s first step into the world of reality competition TV.
In the original game, players act as chefs racing against the clock to make and deliver meals in kitchens full of hazards, from moving floors to fiery explosions. Teamwork, timing, and quick thinking are key, and the TV show promises to bring that same mix of chaos and fun to life.
Deadline reports that Overcooked is still early in the process, but fans of the game can already imagine how hilarious and stressful those kitchen disasters might look with real people in the mix.
