Blake Lively says she’s facing massive losses after what she calls a smear campaign against her during the release of the movie It Ends With Us. According to new court filings, her lawyers claim she’s lost around $161 million in total damages.

They say the campaign hurt her career, her reputation, and her businesses. Her legal team estimates she lost about $56 million in earnings from acting, producing, and other projects.

They also claim her beauty brand, Blake Brown, lost about $49 million, and her drink companies, Betty Buzz and Betty Booze, lost another $22 million. Her lawyers say she’s also suffered $34 million in reputational harm because of all the negative posts and comments about her online. They estimate around 65 million negative social media impressions were made about her.

Lively’s lawsuit, which was first filed on December 31, 2024, is against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, producer Jamey Heath, studio head Steve Sarowitz, and their publicists. She says they targeted her online after she raised concerns about sexual harassment on set. The trial is expected to begin next March.

The updated damage claims became public on Wednesday. In an earlier filing, her lawyers only said her damages were over $75,000, but now they’re claiming the total is far higher. They also plan to ask for up to three times that amount in punitive damages.

Lively’s lawyers said the $161 million figure is a preliminary estimate and could change once experts present their findings at trial.

“These are wish list numbers,” said Gregory Doll, a lawyer at Doll Amir Eley in Los Angeles. “You want to put a big enough number to get the other side concerned and want to settle.”

Baldoni’s side had also filed a lawsuit claiming he lost $400 million because of what he said were Lively’s false accusations against him. That case was dismissed in June after a judge ruled he couldn’t sue for defamation over statements made in a legal complaint.

Court documents also show that a number of Hollywood names were listed as people who might have information related to the case. The list includes Taylor Swift, Emily Blunt, Scooter Braun, Hugh Jackman, Gigi Hadid, Ari Emanuel, and several top Sony executives.

Swift’s name, in particular, has come up several times during the legal back-and-forth. Baldoni’s lawyers had tried to get her to testify, but the court ultimately rejected those efforts.

The case continues to draw attention as both sides prepare for trial next year. The filings were first reported through court documents made public this week.
