Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is finally coming to theaters on December 5, giving fans the chance to see Quentin Tarantino’s martial-arts revenge epic as a single, four-hour movie. Until now, audiences only experienced the story in two parts—Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, but this new release promises a cohesive, intense, and blood-soaked experience. According to Lionsgate, a teaser has already been revealed, and the full trailer is set to drop today.

When Kill Bill Vol. 1 hit theaters in October 2003, it shocked audiences with its mix of Shaw Brothers-style martial arts, grindhouse thrills, and extreme gore. The sequel, Vol. 2, arrived six months later and slowed the pace, focusing more on dialogue, character development, and Western-inspired storytelling. While both films were widely celebrated, Tarantino has always wanted audiences to see them as one complete vision.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair combines both halves into a single cinematic journey. The first half keeps the high-energy action and gore that made Vol. 1 famous, while the second half retains the director’s signature dialogue, character focus, and Western influences.

Fans can also expect some new additions. A 7 ½–minute animated sequence has been included, reportedly expanding on the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, the group of assassins Uma Thurman’s Beatrix Kiddo once worked with. Cartoon Brew reported that this sequence may be just as striking as the anime-style O-Ren Ishii origin story from the first film.

Tarantino has also added a 10-minute intermission to let audiences stretch their legs and grab snacks, similar to what he did with The Hateful Eight 70mm screenings. Lionsgate noted that this intermission helps prepare viewers for the tonal shift between the two halves and turns the screening into a real cinematic event.

The movie will play in select theaters in 35mm and 70mm formats, emphasizing the theatrical experience that Tarantino values. With these additions, fans will get a rare chance to enjoy Kill Bill as Tarantino originally intended: a long, intense, and operatic tribute to his favorite film styles.
