Quentin Tarantino’s full version of Kill Bill is finally heading to the big screen. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will arrive in theaters on December 5, giving fans the chance to experience the story as one long film instead of two separate volumes.

Lionsgate has released the official trailer, confirming that this four-hour version will deliver everything Tarantino originally imagined.

When Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out in 2003, it made a huge impact with its mix of martial arts, over-the-top violence, and classic grindhouse energy. Six months later, Vol. 2 followed, offering a slower pace and focusing more on characters and dialogue. Together, the two parts told the revenge story of Beatrix Kiddo, played by Uma Thurman, but Tarantino has said that he always meant for the two movies to be seen as one complete story.

Now, The Whole Bloody Affair will finally make that possible. The movie combines both volumes into a single screening that shows the full journey of The Bride from start to finish. The first half keeps the fast-paced fights and colorful bloodshed that made Vol. 1 stand out, while the second half focuses more on emotion, conversation, and the Western-inspired tone of Vol. 2.

There are also some new additions for this version. Cartoon Brew reported that a brand-new animated scene has been added, running about seven and a half minutes. This sequence will explore more of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, the team Beatrix once worked with before they betrayed her. The report said the new animation is expected to be as eye-catching as the anime-style flashback from O-Ren Ishii’s story in the first film.

Tarantino has also included a 10-minute intermission in the middle of the movie. Lionsgate explained that the break helps the audience prepare for the change in tone between the two halves and gives them time to relax before continuing. Tarantino used a similar idea during the special screenings of The Hateful Eight, so fans can expect a classic movie-theater experience.

In true Tarantino fashion, The Whole Bloody Affair will be shown in select theaters using both 35mm and 70mm film formats. The goal is to make the event feel like a true cinematic experience, not just another movie screening.

For longtime fans, this release is a rare chance to see Kill Bill the way it was originally meant to be seen: one long, stylish, and emotional revenge story filled with the director’s signature mix of genres and visual flair.
