Millie Bobby Brown’s Bullying Complaint Against David Harbour Confirmed Despite Red Carpet Smiles
At the Stranger Things Season 5 premiere, David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown appeared cheerful and friendly on the red carpet.
The two hugged, took selfies with fans, and shared compliments in interviews. Brown told Entertainment Tonight, “I obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship, and we do every scene together… It’s been so special to have him along the journey for me.”
Harbour, speaking only to ET, said, “I adore her, and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become such great artists… this particular project is so special, and we’ve gotten to know each other so deeply.”
Their public warmth came just days after a Daily Mail report claimed that Brown had filed a bullying and harassment complaint against Harbour before production began on Season 5. Neither actor addressed the report, and Harbour limited his media interactions during the premiere.
Insiders told Variety that an investigation into Brown’s complaint did take place and has since been resolved. While the news drew attention, sources said Harbour was not expected to participate in press junkets due to his busy schedule. He is set to work on HBO’s DTF St. Louis and Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, which opens in December 2026.
PR experts suggested that the premiere’s red carpet moments and the full cast appearing on stage at the TCL Chinese Theater were carefully planned to show unity.
One crisis PR professional told Variety, “The goal in these situations is to make it no worse.” Netflix also shared a video of Harbour and Brown greeting fans, which Brown’s brand, Florence by Mills, reacted to with a heart emoji. Many fans commented that the reported drama seemed overblown.
At the premiere, the show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy were asked about the complaint but declined to comment on the actors directly. Levy told Hollywood Reporter, “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to…there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.”
Ross Duffer added, “We’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. Nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
The Daily Mail report was sourced to a friend of Harbour’s ex-wife, singer Lily Allen. The story emerged amid attention on Allen’s new album, West End Girl, which details her split from Harbour and his alleged infidelity.
