John Cena made history on the November 10 edition of WWE Raw, capturing the Intercontinental Championship and completing his Grand Slam.

The 17-time WWE Champion earned the milestone during his farewell tour in his home state of Massachusetts, marking a memorable moment in his legendary career. The news comes from WWE’s official broadcast and coverage from multiple wrestling outlets.

Cena was introduced by WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and delivered an emotional promo to the Boston crowd. His speech was interrupted by reigning Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, who mocked Cena and claimed he was better than Cena at his peak. Levesque immediately booked a match for the title right then and there.

The match was intense, with Cena taking some hits and Mysterio attempting to cheat his way to victory. But Cena stayed focused, countered Mysterio’s Frog Splash, and landed an Attitude Adjustment to secure the pin. “Finally, the Intercontinental Championship is mine,” the WWE star said after the match, sealing his status as a Grand Slam champion.

This victory adds another achievement to Cena’s already storied career. To become a Grand Slam champion, a WWE superstar must have held the WWE Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and a Tag Team Championship.

Cena had previously won the WWE Championship 17 times, the United States Championship five times, and Tag Team titles four times, but the Intercontinental Championship had eluded him, until now.

Despite winning numerous accolades, including the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank, Cena had never challenged for the Intercontinental title on television before. He had only competed for it at house shows. His win over Mysterio now completes the full set of championships, making him a true Grand Slam competitor as he nears the end of his in-ring career.

Cena’s Intercontinental victory also coincided with the start of the tournament to determine who will face him in his final match, adding more excitement to his farewell tour.
