One of 2025’s Best Black Comedy Thrillers Is Finally Coming to Netflix
Netflix has confirmed that Caught Stealing, one of 2025’s standout black comedy crime films, will arrive on the service in the United States on November 29.
The update was shared on Netflix’s social media accounts, giving the movie a new wave of attention as it heads to streaming after its theatrical run.

The film, directed by Darren Aronofsky, stars Austin Butler as a former baseball player who now works as a bartender. His quiet life falls apart after a simple favor for a neighbor pulls him into dangerous criminal circles in New York City.

The cast also includes Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Benito Martínez Ocasio, Griffin Dunne, and Carol Kane. The story is based on Charlie Huston’s novel, which Huston adapted into the screenplay.
Sony released the movie in theaters on August 29. It opened with $1.2 million from Thursday previews and went on to earn $9.6 million over the Labor Day weekend. By early October, the film had reached $32 million worldwide. The score was composed by Rob Simonsen and performed with the help of the British band Idles.
