The new trailer for Return to Silent Hill has just dropped, giving fans a first look at the third installment in the Silent Hill film series.

The upcoming psychological horror movie is based on the classic video game Silent Hill 2 and is co-written and directed by Christophe Gans. It stars Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland and Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary.

Return to Silent Hill was first announced in October 2022, and filming took place in Germany and Serbia from April 2023 to February 2024.

Cineverse and Iconic Events Releasing will distribute the film in the United States, where it is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026. In France, Metropolitan Filmexport will release the movie on February 4, 2026, according to publicly available information.

The film follows James, who is devastated after being separated from his soulmate. He receives a mysterious letter that brings him back to the eerie town of Silent Hill, hoping to find her. But he quickly realizes the town has been warped by an unknown dark force.

As he navigates the changing streets, James encounters terrifying figures, some familiar and some new. “Doubting his own sanity, he struggles to understand what is real while fighting to save the woman he loves,” according to the film’s synopsis.

The cast also includes Evie Templeton as Laura. Templeton previously performed the motion capture and voice of Laura in the Silent Hill 2 game remake, adding a strong connection to the source material.

With the new trailer now available, fans can get a taste of the film’s chilling atmosphere and tense storytelling. This next chapter promises to dive deeper into the haunting world of Silent Hill while staying true to the psychological horror elements that made the games so memorable.
