Gal Gadot Reveals the Role She Wants to Reprise — Fans Aren’t Having It
Gal Gadot is open to stepping back into the role of the Evil Queen, but many fans are not excited about the idea.
During an appearance at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Snow Ball Gala in Beverly Hills, where she was honored with the Hollywood Icon Award, the Wonder Woman actress told Us Weekly that she would “love” to play the villain again.
Gadot even joked that Disney’s chief executive should hear her directly, saying, “Tell Bob. Bob, I’ll do that.”
Her comments come months after the release of Snow White, Disney’s live-action remake of the classic 1937 film.
The movie starred Rachel Zegler as Snow White, with Gadot portraying the Queen. Despite its large production budget, the musical struggled both financially and publicly, drawing attention for major changes to the original story, casting debates, and political conversations involving the film’s leads.
The project ended up being labeled a box-office disappointment.
Because of that rocky reception, the idea of a spinoff centered on the Evil Queen was not welcomed online. Shortly after Gadot’s interview surfaced, social media reactions poured in, and many were blunt. Some comments included: “please put a TW next time u post her face pls ♥️,” “more like gal gadot threatens to return as the evil queen, ” “spin off movie for Disney worst ever live action disaster?” “A sequel would definitely be an embarrassment,” “Lmao your film bombed for a reason, ” “WE DONT WANT HER SHES PROBLEMATIC AND USELESS.”
While Gadot expressed enthusiasm at the idea of revisiting the character, the online response shows that viewers are far from united on wanting more from the film’s world. Disney has not announced any plans for a sequel or spinoff.
