Hugh Jackman is once again at the center of Marvel speculation, as fans continue to wonder whether Wolverine will show up in the next big Avengers movies.

After the huge success of Deadpool & Wolverine, many expected Marvel to quickly confirm the character’s future. But with the studio keeping everything locked down ahead of its major 2026 releases, the questions haven’t stopped.

While promoting his new film Song Sung Blue with Kate Hudson, Jackman appeared on The Graham Norton Show. The topic of the Avengers movies came up again, and Jackman gave a playful but telling answer.

“Maybe. I’m never saying ‘never’ ever again,” he said, adding with a joke, “I have done 10 films now, so I think they have enough for an AI version of me.” The quote was shared by Culture Crave.

Jackman has been asked about this many times throughout 2025. In an interview on The View, he kept things vague but didn’t shut anything down, saying, “I can’t say much… I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add.” His comments only encouraged more speculation about Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in December 2026.

There was also some buzz last year when Evangeline Lilly, known for playing Wasp, hinted at the idea of working with Jackman’s Wolverine. However, that talk may have been misleading since she had already said she was stepping away from acting, as Variety reported. Even so, the excitement around Wolverine joining the Avengers continues to grow.

Jackman has been tied to the character since the year 2000. Over more than two decades, he has played Wolverine in 10 movies across different eras of the X-Men franchise and now the Deadpool series. Few superhero roles have been as long-lasting or as iconic. Whether Marvel plans to extend that run with an eleventh film is still a mystery.
