Filming began in New Zealand on September 25, 2017, alongside The Way of Water, and wrapped in late December 2020. The movie has faced multiple delays, with its release date pushed back nine times, but it is now set to premiere at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on December 1, with a U.S. release scheduled for December 19. Two more sequels, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, are already in production, planned for release in 2029 and 2031.
The story picks up a year after Jake and Neytiri’s family settles with the Metkayina clan. The family is still coping with the loss of Neteyam when they encounter a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe called the Mangkwan clan, also known as the Ash people. This tribe, led by the fierce Varang, joins forces with Jake’s long-time enemy, Quaritch, escalating the conflict on Pandora to dangerous new levels.
The newly released teaser offers fans an early look at the film’s stunning visuals and sets the tone for an intense and emotional continuation of the saga. It highlights the struggle of Jake and Neytiri’s family as they face new enemies and challenges in their fight to protect Pandora.
