For years, fans of Knives Out have wanted something unusual: a crossover with Sesame Street. Benoit Blanc, the fancy detective who usually investigates grown-up suspects, now has a whole new set of colorful characters to figure out.

Netflix and Sesame Workshop have made that dream happen. In a new video called “Forks Out,” Cookie Monster’s triple-berry pie disappears, and only a skilled detective can solve the mystery.

Enter Beignet Blanc, a puppet version of Daniel Craig’s famous detective. “I have arrived to this street of Sesame,” he says, “on a sunny day turned cloudy.” Beignet Blanc is ready to find out who ate the pie. Is it Oscar the Grouch? Elmo? Zoe? Or even Cookie Monster himself?

According to Sesame Workshop, this short is part of a new partnership with Netflix that combines the fun of Sesame Street with the excitement of a whodunit. Beignet Blanc shows sharp detective skills just like his human version.

Fans will notice references to classic mysteries like The Murder on the Orient Express, Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case, and even Sesame Street’s old character Herbert Birdsfoot. Beignet Blanc is prepared and has done his homework.

The timing is perfect. Netflix is releasing Blanc’s newest movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, on December 12. Meanwhile, you can stream the latest season of Sesame Street on Netflix right now.
