Holland Taylor’s, 82, Heartfelt Tribute to Girlfriend Sarah Paulson, 50, Lights Up Walk of Fame Ceremony
Holland Taylor celebrated Sarah Paulson in a warm and emotional tribute as Paulson received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week.

Taylor, 82, spoke proudly about her partner’s talent and spirit. She opened her speech by describing Paulson in a unique and funny way, calling her a powerful force in the acting world. “Sarah, the actress, is first of all a wild creature in the animal kingdom. Warm blooded, instinctive, mysterious,” she said. Taylor added with a smile that Paulson is “dangerous — trust me in this — not dangerous like a snake, more like a mongoose… those darling furry, little creatures that kill snakes.”
As the crowd laughed, Taylor went on to praise Paulson’s intense dedication to her work. She talked about how deeply Paulson studies each role and how few actors are able to commit the way she does. Taylor explained, “Nothing interferes with her laser perception of her character’s traits… She zeros in to a story’s central struggle, where most of us aren’t even aware of our own.”

Taylor also shared her belief that Paulson will someday be a great director, saying her acting is shaped by honesty and a kind of “magic.” She emphasized that Paulson’s biggest strength is her humanity, both on and off the screen.
She then shifted to Paulson as a person, describing her as loving and loyal. Taylor talked about Paulson’s meaningful friendships and strong ties to her family. She said, “Truth to tell, it is these relationships where Sarah is most complex, dedicated and giving… She breaks the mold, throws assumptions out the window, does it her way.”
To close the speech, Taylor spoke directly to Paulson in a heartfelt moment. “And just in case she doesn’t know it, she has a permanent shining star on my street. I love you, darling.”
Paulson and Taylor have been together since 2015, and over the years they’ve openly supported each other while also addressing the criticism surrounding their 31-year age gap. Paulson once told Modern Luxury, “If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem. I’m doing just fine.”
