Nicolas Cage Steps Into 1930s as Spider-Noir in First Look At the Show
The first official poster for Spider-Noir has been revealed, giving fans a first look at Nicolas Cage as a darker, older version of Spider-Man. The series, set in a 1930s alternate New York City, follows the grizzled hero as he works as a private investigator while dealing with the weight of his past.

Spider-Noir is being developed for MGM+ by Oren Uziel, who is co-showrunning the series with Steve Lightfoot. The show is part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Pascal Pictures, Lord Miller Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios. Filming took place in Los Angeles from August 2024 to March, with black-and-white cameras used to give it a classic film noir feel. A fully colored version will also be available.
Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly, also known as Spider-Man Noir. Cage previously voiced a version of this character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).
The cast also includes Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson as a philosophical but dangerous mob boss, Li Jun Li as a nightclub singer, Abraham Popoola as a World War I veteran looking for new opportunities, Jack Huston as a bodyguard, and Karen Rodriguez in an undisclosed role.
The show was first announced in February 2023, with Cage’s casting confirmed in May 2024. Initially titled Noir, the series was renamed Spider-Noir in July 2024. The first poster highlights Cage’s gritty portrayal and sets the tone for the series’ dark, moody style.
Spider-Noir is scheduled to debut on MGM+ in 2026 with eight episodes and will also be released globally on Amazon Prime Video.
