Apple TV has released the first trailer for Season 2 of Hijack, the thriller series starring Idris Elba. The new season, which has eight episodes, premieres on January 14, 2026, with episodes releasing weekly until the season finale on March 4.

Elba returns as Sam Nelson, the skilled negotiator fans saw in Season 1. Previously, he tried to handle a hijacking on a flight from Dubai to London.

In the new season, Nelson faces a high-pressure situation on a hijacked train in the Berlin Underground. He must use his negotiation skills to protect the hostages, while law enforcement above ground works to save commuters. Their efforts may sometimes clash with Nelson’s hands-on approach.

Returning cast members Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi reprise their roles from the first season. New cast members include Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul.

Elba earned an Emmy nomination for his performance in the first season, which received wide praise and became one of Apple TV’s most popular dramas. Season 2 is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash at 60Forty Films, along with George Kay and Jim Field Smith at Idiotlamp Productions. Kay and Field Smith are the creators of the series, and Field Smith also serves as the lead director.
