Vin Diesel has confirmed that global soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo will appear in the next Fast & Furious movie. The news was shared directly by Diesel on social media, making him the source of the announcement.

The upcoming film will be the 12th entry in the long-running action franchise. Over the years, Fast & Furious has featured many famous faces, from WWE stars like Dwayne Johnson and John Cena to music artists such as Cardi B and Ludacris.

Adding Ronaldo takes the series in a new direction. He is not only one of the most successful soccer players ever, but also one of the most followed people in the world, with more than one billion followers across social platforms.

This move continues the franchise’s habit of mixing sports, music, and Hollywood stars into its stories. For Ronaldo, the cameo marks another step outside the sports world after a career filled with trophies, records, and global fame.

The future of the Fast & Furious series has not always been clear. After the release of Fast X, Diesel said the studio was considering two more movies, depending on how the film performed. Reports later suggested the next main movie could be the final chapter. Plans changed several times, with delays pushing the release further into the future. At one point, there were even questions about whether the film would happen at all due to budget concerns.

More recently, Diesel said those issues have been resolved. He confirmed that production is expected to move forward and that the next film will return to the roots of the franchise, with more focus on street racing. Spin-off projects have been paused for now, while attention stays on finishing the main story.
