Trump Pins Rob Reiner’s Death on “Trump Derangement Syndrome”: “He Was Known To Have Driven People CRAZY”
President Donald Trump made headlines on Monday after blaming director Rob Reiner for his own death. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Reiner’s death was linked to what he called “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” a term he used to describe Reiner’s alleged obsession with the president.
Trump wrote, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.” “
He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday. Multiple reports indicate that they suffered stab wounds.
The Los Angeles Police Department initially called the incident an “apparent homicide,” though a family spokesperson later confirmed their deaths. The spokesperson said, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the official cause of death. According to online records, one of the couple’s children, Nick Reiner, has been taken into custody and is being held on $4 million bail.
Rob Reiner, known for his long career in Hollywood and political activism, had often criticized Trump in the past. In 2017, Reiner told Variety at the Dubai International Film Festival that Trump was “the single-most unqualified human being to ever assume the presidency of the United States. Not only does he not understand how government works, he has no interest in trying to find out how it works.”
Ahead of the 2024 election, Reiner expressed concerns about a potential second Trump term. He told The Guardian, “The question at this election is: Do we want to continue 249 years of self-rule and American democracy? Or do we want to turn it over to somebody like Donald Trump, who has said that he wants to destroy the constitution, go after his political enemies and turn America into an autocracy?”
Trump’s post has drawn attention for its controversial tone and for attributing personal blame to Reiner in connection with his death, which many observers have called baseless.
